In development since 1981.
The patent is currently restricted by the Office of the Secretary of
Defense for use outside the United States due to U.S. military,
special, and covert operations requirements for rugged, full-power,
field-deployable, fully-stealthed power supplies.
In other words, the
Knightwind has no exposed moving blades, doesn't make any noise, can be
completely camoflauged, runs cool, and is extremely compact.
In a normal site, the turbine
constantly tracks and concentrates the available wind. Because of this,
the Knightwind is not
location-sensitive like conventional wind generators. Even a mild
breeze is enough to generate useable power.
